Hygiene Article Dispenser on the Empa Campus
Menstruation is a natural phenomenon that affects many Empa employees. In order to ensure the best possible working environment for its employees, Empa has simplified access to menstrual products on campus.
As part of a pilot project, dispensers have been installed in women's toilets at all three sites in Dübendorf, St. Gallen and Thun, which provide free tampons and sanitary pads.
The aim of the project is to help normalize and remove the taboo surrounding menstruation at Empa and in Swiss society in general as well as to help menstruating employees in cases of "small emergency situations", when they are in need of hygiene articles.
Where can the dispensers be found?
Dübendorf:
In Dübendorf there is a dispenser in the NEST (ground floor women's toilet) and in the laboratory building in the middle part (ground floor women's toilet, room 153). The area plan can be found here.
St.Gallen:
In St. Gallen there is a dispenser in the cafeteria and one in the women's toilet on the D floor.
Thun:
There is a hygiene article dispenser in the Empa building in Thun (womens toilet in L3, 3rd floor).
