Citrus digital twin Application - short description

To run, the executable must be launched.

Before starting the app for the first time, the runtime components must be unpacked and installed. This may take a few minutes.

The COMSOL license agreement must be accepted.

A series of installation steps follow.

The program can now be launched.

A window like this opens. The delivery air temperature can be set to 'constant' or variable'. As this is a prototype, sensor data from a 25.5 day-shipment is pre-loaded as an example. However, in later versions shipment, data can be uploaded or read for a set of files. The fruit species, as well as size parameters, can be altered.

To run the study, click on 'Compute', as shown below.

Depending on the time duration of the shipment as well as the mesh selected, the computation could take anywhere between 2-30 minutes. While a fine mesh is definitely more accurate, the computation time is much higher; therefore, a coarse mesh is sufficient for a quick check. The progress bar at the bottom-right indicates the how much of the computation is completed.

Once computation is completed, actionable metrics for fruit quality are displayed on the output tabs in the right. For the plots, the corresponding tab can be selected, for example for moisture loss, condensation, fruit temperature, and remaining quality. The plot in the centre-bottom shows an animation of how fruit temperature evolves.
